Full Time Residents and Vacation Renters
Like all of the Florida Keys, Key Largo is no exception; it’s a vacation destination, and for good reason. Key Largo is known to have some of the best snorkeling and fishing in the world. This attraction brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. With that said, there are a lots of vacation rentals in Key Largo.
Key Largo is located in Monroe County, which as a 30 day minimum rental. Since Key Largo is so close to the main land; on the weekends, the place can get pretty crowded. Often traffic can be bad on the 18 mile stretch which brings you into Key Largo.
The keys in general are a very transient place; there are always people coming and going. Often people stay only a few years and then move away, so you will meet a lot of different people from all over while living here.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Key Largo has two fantastic state parks that are worth the visit.

There are two grocery stores in Key Largo, several restaurants, and shops. Since your so close to the main land it is just a short drive to some of the bigger named stores.
Key Largo has some really great communities with a voluntary HOA. They only cost about $200.00 or $300.00 a year. When you pay the fee you get access to the community boat ramp, beach and park areas. If you don’t have a home on the water, this can be a great way to still have water access.

Key Largo Community Park – is fun for the whole family. It has basket ball courts, volley ball courts, playground and skate park.
Not all of the keys have a community pool and swimming facility, but Key Largo does. Jacobs Aquatic Center has 3 swimming pools and a kids water park! It’s a great place for kids to learn how to swim or just cool off from the heat.

If your are looking for a casual life style with lots of water activities you have found your home! Key Largo has a small town atmosphere. Often you will see locals boating to their favorite restaurant or going to the sandbar for a picnic!
THE MARKET
Condos, Single Family Homes, Half Duplexes and Full Duplexes.
Since Key Largo is one of the larger island there tends to be more choices for homes in this area compared to other areas.
